R: located on a former training range as determined by the
Corps as part of a recent survey done by all DOD components in response
to the Senate Report on the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal
Year 2000 (Report 106-50, May 17, 1999); this survey did not cover
834 projects at 820 properties that had OEW projects
-R*: located on a property that was not covered by the DOD/Corps
survey but which we have concluded is likely a former training range based
on information such as the name of the property (for example, names including
"bombing range" or "bombing target") and the project description (for example,
projects described as OEW cleanup projects at a bombing range or target);
based on such criteria, we found over 200 properties that could be ranges
- PRP: potentially responsible parties besides DOD have contributed to the hazard;
for such hazards, the Department of Justice oversees negotiations to determine
which PRPs are responsible for the cleanup and to what extent
