Tracking the Funds: Update on Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending
GAO is tracking the status of funds that Members of Congress directed to community projects in our Tracking the Funds series. In September 2023, GAO issued two new government-wide reports in the series, GAO-23-106318, which describes the status of FY22 requests as of 9/30/2022, and GAO-23-106561, which provides an overview of FY23 requests and how they compare with FY22. - • FY 2023 funds designated ($): funds requested by Members of Congress in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 for designated recipients
- • FY 2022 funds designated ($): funds requested by Members of Congress in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022 for designated recipients
- • FY 2022 funds obligated (%): funds agencies obligatedObligation: A definite commitment that creates a legal duty of the government for the payment of goods or services for projects, such as signing contracts or awarding grants. towards projects by 9/30/2022
- • FY 2022 funds outlayed (%): funds agencies disbursed or paid out for projects by 9/30/2022
