At the time, DHS had 15,798 remote workers located in 50 states and Washington, D.C. Remote workers made up 7.0 percent of DHS’s workforce.
In January 2025, the President directed that all executive agencies require employees work in-person at agency offices, with certain exceptions. As a result, the information in this map may not reflect the current number or location of remote workers at DHS.
