The map below shows the number of HUD remote workers (as of June 2024) by the state in which their alternative worksite was located.

At the time, HUD had 810 remote workers located in 42 states and Washington, D.C. Remote workers made up 9.2 percent of HUD’s workforce.

In January 2025, the President directed that all executive agencies require employees work in-person at agency offices, with certain exceptions. As a result, the information in this map may not reflect the current number or location of remote workers at HUD.
