IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
Follow these steps to complete the survey correctly

Step 1: You will be asked to provide information about your agency's mandatory basic law enforcement training-one program at a time. After providing information for one training, you will cycle through the questions again for each subsequent training.

Step 2: Each time you cycle through the questions, provide information on just one law enforcement officer mandatory basic training. When responding to the questions in this survey, please use the following definitions:

A mandatory basic training program is a continuous instructional activity required to earn law enforcement authority and may last up to several months. For purposes of this survey, do not separately identify individual training topics or instructional units that may constitute parts of a basic training program.

Law enforcement officers include those officers who are authorized to perform at least one of the following law enforcement functions, even if all officers do not necessarily exercise this authority all the time: (1) conduct criminal investigations, (2) execute search warrants, (3) make arrests, and (4) carry firearms.

NOTE: If your agency does not require mandatory basic law enforcement training, at question #1 you will be instructed on how to proceed.

Step 3: Whenever "Click here" appears next to an answer you choose, please click it. This is very important and ensures that you answer only the relevant questions for each mandatory basic training program.

If you have any questions about completing the survey, please call Sam Hinojosa (202) 512-4450 or Su Jin Yon (202) 512-3693 before you begin.
