Grace licensees and industrial partners. After an Internet search, EPA found that a company identified as Rapid Industrial Plastics was located in Jersey City, New Jersey at 13 Linden Avenue East. On the basis of its investigation, EPA determined that Rapid Industrial Plastics Corporation operated as a distributor and processor of industrial plastics. The site was located in an industrial area. The company officials EPA interviewed had no knowledge of the company purchasing vermiculite or any other products from W.R. Grace. During the site visit, EPA officials noted that the roofing tiles on the company building appeared to be made of a material that contains asbestos, which may have been purchased from W.R. Grace. EPA recommended that the company take samples of the interior roof to determine if asbestos was present. On the basis of the site investigation, EPA determined that no further actions related to asbestos-contaminated vermiculite would be needed. |
