Grace shipping invoices, 4 tons of vermiculite ore from the Libby mine were shipped to this site in June 1982. At the time of EPA's visit, a company that packages and distributes peat and topsoil operated at this site. EPA found that no one at the facility had any knowledge of vermiculite use at the site. According to EPA, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry advised EPA that the amount of ore thought to have been received by this site was so small that it was unlikely to cause any high levels of contamination. EPA decided no further action was needed at this site. Because EPA could not locate the file for this site, no other information was available on the basis for this decision. |
