5 | 2727 Kinney Avenue NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan | Adhesive manufacturer | 12 | Yes-April 12, 2000 | No | According to an EPA database compiled from W.R. Grace shipping invoices, 12 tons of vermiculite ore from the Libby mine was shipped to this site in March 1980. At the time of EPA's site visit, this facility manufactured adhesives. According to a company official, in the past, the company had purchased exfoliated vermiculite from W.R. Grace to use as filler in the manufacture of adhesives. Vermiculite ore was never exfoliated at this site. The company discontinued manufacturing the product that contained vermiculite in 1995 and did not have any vermiculite in stock at the time of EPA's visit. EPA did not find any evidence of vermiculite at the site. On the basis of this information, EPA determined no further action was needed. |
