5 | 2 Division Street, River Rouge, Michigan | Gypsum board manufacturer | 400 | Yes-April 6, 2000 | Yes | According to an EPA database compiled from W.R. Grace shipping invoices, 400 tons of vermiculite ore from the Libby mine was shipped to this site between March 1973 and August 1974. According to EPA, this facility used vermiculite to manufacture wallboard. At the time of EPA's visit, the facility had not used vermiculite in recent years. When vermiculite was used, it was shipped from a W.R. Grace facility in South Carolina. Vermiculite ore was not exfoliated at this facility. Although EPA did collect samples, the site file could not be located that contained the sampling results and other information collected during the site investigation. According to EPA, it decided that no further action was needed. |
