2 | c/o Red Hook Marine Terminal, Foot of Hamilton Street, Brooklyn, New York | Shipping | 110 | Yes-July 19, 2000 | No | According to an EPA database compiled from W.R. Grace shipping invoices, 110 tons of vermiculite ore from the Libby mine were shipped to this site in 1985. During its July 2000 visit to this site, EPA interviewed a guard from the on-site security service, who said that Venezuela Lines had operated at the location several years before, moved to a location in New Jersey, and subsequently went out of business. The Hamilton Street location was essentially a loading terminal and storage area for ships. EPA officials canvassed the immediate area surrounding the site and could not find any evidence of Venezuela Lines. On the basis of this information, EPA determined that no further action was necessary. |
