Grace shipping invoices, 1,004 tons of vermiculite ore from the Libby mine were shipped to this company between November 1969 and September 1975. When EPA visited, this facility was operated by the Hart Company, which sold wholesale building products. According to a company representative, Hart had been operating at the site for 3 years. The company official confirmed that a sheetrock company had previously operated at the site. The site consisted of an abandoned water tank, loading dock, two warehouses, an office building, and an office trailer. There was a residence to the west of the site and a business to the south. The site had railroad access, which could have been used in the past to transport vermiculite. EPA did not observe any waste debris or vermiculite at the site. EPA decided no further action was needed. |
