6 | 919 E. Barbours Cut Boulevard, Laporte, Texas | Shipping | Unknown | Yes-July 19, 2000 | No | An EPA database compiled from W.R.Grace shipping invoices did not contain any records indicating Libby ore was shipped to this site. However, EPA obtained the name of this site through a review of other documents provided by W.R. Grace. When EPA visited this site, it was an active facility that moved closed containers of materials between storage facilities and ships. The company was operating as Universal Maritime Service Corporation but had formerly operated as Sea-Land Terminal/Maersk and had been located at 1515 E. Barbours Cut Boulevard. A company official said they did not have any knowledge about W.R. Grace or the Libby mine and did not deal with vermiculite. According to this official, the property at 919 E. Barbours Cut Boulevard was open grassland before December 1999. EPA observed no vermiculite waste or stored vermiculite at the site. EPA determined no further action was needed at this site. |
