6 | 3340 Bingle Road, Houston, Texas | Active exfoliation facility | Unknown | Yes-August 4, 2000 | No | An EPA database compiled from W.R. Grace shipping invoices did not contain any records indicating Libby ore was shipped to this site. However, EPA obtained the name of this site through a review of other W.R. Grace documents. When EPA visited, this facility was an active vermiculite exfoliation plant manufacturing fire protection products. Isolatek purchased the site in 1998. Before then, Strong-Lite Products and Mandoval Vermiculite Products had operated at the site. At the time of EPA's visit, the plant manager said the facility obtained vermiculite ore from Africa. The plant manager had no knowledge of Libby ore being used at the site. EPA determined no further action was needed. |
