6 | 117 N Britain Road, Irving, Texas | Former exfoliation facility | Unknown | Yes-February 15, 2000 | No | An EPA database compiled from W.R. Grace shipping invoices did not contain any records indicating Libby ore was shipped to this site. However, EPA obtained the name of this site through a review of other documents, such as local government records or EPA enforcement information. At the time of EPA's visit, this site was adjacent to and part of a lumber supply facility, and the original warehouse on the site was not being used. Previously, a perlite exfoliation facility had operated on the site. The former owner of the perlite facility said his company had briefly experimented with expanding vermiculite from Africa in 1959, but found it to be unprofitable. At the time of EPA's visit, the site consisted of a single, large warehouse that had railroad access. EPA did not observe any waste debris in the area of the railroad or the warehouse. EPA determined no further action was needed. |
