6 2624 Link Road, Houston, Texas Former exfoliation facility Unknown Yes-February 18, 2000 No An EPA database compiled from W.R. Grace shipping invoices did not contain any records indicating Libby ore was shipped to this site. However, a 1964 report by the Bureau of Mines (at that time in the U.S. Department of the Interior) indicated this facility had been a vermiculite exfoliation plant. EPA determined that Tri-Lite had operated a vermiculite exfoliation facility at this site but did not find any information regarding the timeframe during which the company operated, what products it manufactured, or whether it had obtained vermiculite ore from Libby, Montana. At the time of EPA's visit, this site was an active gravel and sand yard that was in a residential area. A warehouse, materials shed, and 2-story administrative building were located on the site and there were no storage silos or security fencing. EPA did not observe any vermiculite waste on the site. Based on its investigation, EPA determined no further action was needed.
