6 | Lay Street, Gilliam, Louisiana | Building products manufacturer | 855 | Yes-June 29, 2000 | No | According to an EPA database compiled from W.R. Grace shipping invoices, 855 tons of vermiculite ore from the Libby mine were shipped to this site between August 1977 and November 1978. EPA checked to see if the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality had any information on this company but no records could be found. EPA went to the street address for the site and found one large building on the site that was overgrown with vegetation. No vermiculite waste material was observed on the site. A local contact told EPA that the company had been involved in roofing and spray-on vermiculite, primarily for commercial and industrial buildings. EPA determined no further action was needed. |
