6 | 1628 Rogers Road, Fort Worth, Texas | Lubricant manufacturer | 30 | Yes-June 28, 2000 | No | According to an EPA database compiled from W.R. Grace shipping invoices, 30 tons of vermiculite ore from the Libby mine were shipped to this site between June 1968 and March 1969. At the time of EPA's visit, this facility manufactured dry lubricants for the aerospace industry and had been in business for 41 years. Vermiculite made up less than 2 percent of the dry lubricant mix. The facility owner confirmed that vermiculite from the Libby mine was used in the 1960s for 2 years. The owner said all Libby vermiculite had been disposed of about 25 years ago. At the time of EPA's visit, the company obtained vermiculite from North Carolina. The vermiculite was processed by grinding it before adding it to the lubricant mix. EPA did not observe any vermiculite waste piles on the site and determined no further action was needed. |
