2 | 1666 Division Street, Palmyra, New York | Specialty seals, packings, and gaskets manufacturer | 0.25 | Yes-April 18, 2000 | No | According to an EPA database compiled from W.R. Grace shipping invoices, 0.25 tons of Libby ore were shipped to this site in 1984. During its investigation, EPA found that B.F. Goodrich purchased the site from Garlock in July 1999. Garlock manufactured various types of sealing products. Garlock company officials told EPA that the company had purchased a small amount of Libby ore for an experimental project conducted from approximately 1987 to 1992. The project involved blending vermiculite with various substances, such as clay and rubber, to produce gasket compounds. The project was discontinued and the products were not marketed. On the basis of this information, EPA decided no further action was needed. |
