Grace shipping invoices, 3,213 tons of vermiculite ore from the Libby mine were shipped to this site between April 1967 and January 1981. James Hardie Gypsum operated this facility at the time of EPA’s investigation. EPA collected air, soil, and dust samples. The air samples did not contain detectable levels of asbestos. The soil samples contained less than 1-percent asbestos and the dust samples contained less than 10,000 structures per square centimeter of wiped surface. Since the samples were all below levels that would trigger a cleanup action, EPA determined no further action was needed. |
