3 | Shed 8, Dundalk Marine Terminal, Port of Baltimore, 2700 Broening Highway, Baltimore, Maryland | Shipping | 3,040 | Yes-exact date of visit unknown but occurred in 2000 | No | According to an EPA database compiled from W.R. Grace shipping invoices, 3,040 tons of Libby ore was shipped to this site between September 1972 and June 1979. At the time of EPA's visit, the site consisted of a cargo storage facility at Dundalk Marine Terminal in the Port of Baltimore. The cargo facility listed as Shed 8 was being used only for storing containers and packaged materials that were being shipped elsewhere. The packaged materials were placed into containers for shipment. No loose bulk materials were handled at this site. EPA concluded that W.R. Grace had likely leased the storage terminal to ship packaged materials and that packaged materials placed in the containers were not likely to have contaminated the site. On the basis of this information, EPA decided no further action was necessary. |
