Grace shipping invoices, this site received 200 tons of Libby ore between January 1966 and July 1967. Also, 1953 and 1964 reports by the Bureau of Mines (at that time in the U.S. Department of the Interior) indicated this facility was a vermiculite exfoliation plant. This site also appeared on a list of W.R. Grace licensees and industry partners. Available documentation indicated that EPA visited this site, completed its evaluation, and decided no further action was needed. EPA did not have documentation indicating whether sampling was conducted. No documentation was available about the basis for EPA's decision to take no further action. |
