Grace shipping invoices, 0.15 tons of vermiculite ore from the Libby mine were shipped to this site in February 1969. Through a telephone conversation, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection informed EPA that the state was taking action against this active facility for several environmental issues unrelated to asbestos. State officials also said that sampling was conducted and the results did not indicate an asbestos problem. On the basis of this information, EPA determined that no further action related to asbestos-contaminated ore was needed. |
