10 | 16300 SW 72nd Avenue, Portland, Oregon | Unknown | 240 | Yes-April 26, 2000 | No | According to an EPA database compiled from W.R. Grace shipping invoices, 240 tons of vermiculite ore from the Libby mine were shipped to this site between December 1984 and July 1986. During its site visit, EPA found that the current owner had gutted the building and that the area surrounding the building was paved. Given this, EPA concluded that if any vermiculite was present in the soil, the pavement would help reduce exposure risk by preventing asbestos fibers from getting into the air. EPA officials observed that the facility had no rafters, crawl spaces, or other areas of potential concern where vermiculite could have accumulated. On the basis of this information, EPA determined no further action was needed at this site. |
