Navigation Instructions

What You Need to Know to Complete the Survey

To complete your survey, you may move from screen to screen using either

- - the buttons at the bottom of each screen,
- - the menu bar on the left side of the screen, or
- - the arrow buttons on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.

Please do not use the "Enter" key on your keyboard to navigate through the survey.

Answering Questions and Changing Answers

Most of the questions can be answered by simply clicking on a "button" (circle) or a "box" (square). Some questions can be answered by entering numbers or short answers in a designated location. You can answer open-ended questions by clicking anywhere inside the box and beginning to type. This space is unlimited and will expand to accommodate your response.

To change an answer marked with a "button" (circle), click on another answer.

Exiting and Re-entering the Survey

You can exit the survey at any time by clicking on the "Exit" button at the bottom of the screen (or on the navigation bar). You may log in again later to continue your survey or to enter new responses or to change previous responses. The survey will restart at the last response you entered.

Printing Your Responses

You can print your responses for each section by clicking on the "Print" button at the end of the section. The last screen also provides a link if you want to print the responses from your entire survey.

Completing the Survey

The final question in the last section asks you to indicate that you have completed this survey. Your answers will not be used unless you have completed this final question.

Clicking "Completed" is equivalent to "mailing" your completed survey. It lets us know that you are finished, and that you want us to use your answers. It also lets us know not to send you any follow-up messages reminding you to complete your survey.

GAO Contacts

If your response will be delayed, or if you have any questions, please call or e-mail:

[The respondent saw the name of two GAO staff here.]

If you have questions, these GAO contacts pop up when you click on the "?" button at the bottom of the screen or click on the caption: "Contacts" on the left menu. The "?" button will also reveal a hot link. Clicking on the hot link in most cases will automatically open up your email system and address an email to a GAO contact. Then you only need to fill in your question and send the message.

Suggestion: Print this section for future reference.
