Section II: Resources and Challenges to Collaborating on Teacher Quality

Section II of this questionnaire is composed of two parts, Part A and B.

The questions in Part A ask about your state agency for higher education's collaboration with other offices, agencies, or institutions in the area of teacher quality. It also includes questions dealing with challenges to collaboration.

The questions in Part B ask about your state's education coordinating bodies (referred to herein as “coordinating bodies”), if any. These bodies are formally established to coordinate statewide PK-16/20 education initiatives and reforms. The coordinating body refers to the lead agency or entity that serves a facilitating function among those agencies and individuals participating on PK-16/20 education initiatives and reforms.

Examples of such coordinating bodies include what are commonly referred to as PK-16/20 councils, though some states refer to them differently (commission, roundtable, committee, initiative, etc.).

Coordinating bodies may also include state agencies or boards with consolidated authority over all public education in the state and essentially perform the same function as a PK-16/20 council.
