Next, I want to talk about the different ways banks can send notification that checks have been paid.
Some banks return the canceled paper checks that you wrote. Banks can now replace an
original paper check with a substitute check and return that to the customer instead of a canceled paper check. {Show example of substitute check.}
Other banks return a sheet of paper with pictures or images of checks on it, and others offer a combination of these services.
{Show example of image statement.}
Still other banks do not send any paper and instead provide only on-line access to your canceled checks.
I will discuss each of these forms of notification with you in turn. So, the next set of questions
focuses only on your experience with canceled paper checks.
