| Short Description |
Provides rental assistance payments for tenants in USDA-financed rental housing with incomes too low to pay the Rural Development (RD) subsidized rent from their own resources. RD pays the property owner the difference between the tenant’s contribution (30 percent of adjusted income) and the monthly rental rate, which is calculated based on the owner’s project costs. Property owners must agree to operate the property on a limited profit or nonprofit basis. |
