Assisted-Living Conversion Program

Short Description Provides grants to private nonprofit owners of eligible developments to convert some or all of the dwelling units in the development into an assisted-living facility or service-enriched housing for the frail elderly. These facilities are designed to accommodate frail elderly and people with disabilities who can live independently, but need assistance with activities of daily living (e.g., assistance with eating, bathing, grooming, dressing, and home management activities). Under this program, funded facilities must provide supportive services, such as personal care, transportation, meals, housekeeping, or laundry.
