Section B

Nonfederal sources of funds for four types of Medicaid payments: fee-for-service Medicaid payments, capitation payments to managed care organizations, Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital supplemental payments, and Medicaid non-Disproportionate Share Hospital supplemental payments and other Medicaid payments.

The following tables present state-reported information on the sources of funds for the nonfederal share for state fiscal years 2008 through 2012, by state, for four types of Medicaid payments combined: fee-for-service Medicaid payments, capitation payments to managed care organizations, Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital supplemental payments, and Medicaid non-Disproportionate Share Hospital supplemental payments and other Medicaid payments. Table 1 presents the amount and percentage of the nonfederal share that come from state funds and all other sources (health care providers, local governments, and other sources). Health care provider taxes

The following tables present state-reported information on the health care provider taxes states implemented during state fiscal years 2008 through 2012. Table 1 presents total number of health care provider taxes implemented by states during this period. Table 2 displays the types of health care services or providers subjected to provider taxes.
